Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'....

I swept & vacuumed , but still felt like the attic  needed to be mopped before I could paint.
50 years is a long time for dust to build up!

Here's the finished floor. I used porch & floor paint which should hold up well.
John called after I had been there about 6 hours and said ..." Aren't you just rolling it?"
I did "just " roll it , but each board had nooks and crannies to get into, and I had to paint the stairs too. This old wood sucked up the paint like a sponge !

Bye bye blue tub!
After finding out that it would be $350 to coat the old blue tub, I decided that it made more sense to get a new one.

Subway to the ceiling and a transome window to allow some daylight into the space.

This is "bedroom 3" or ... As it would be for many , the office , the den or the playroom.
The acoustic ceiling is gone - and the new closet is here.
My contractor is going to tie in the new closet with trim - to make it look built in.

Kitchen is ready for cabinets!

I'm ready too

Still just plugging along ...

I had some time to continue cleaning out the yard - and look who I found!

As if that wasn't a thrill enough - right after that, I came across this little treasure!

I was sad to see that the flag was taken down when we bought the house. It's amazing how a simple flag can make a  house look this much happier! So glad to have Old Glory flying once again!

Once the bathroom demo was done, it was apparent that we needed to do a bit more work on the floor joist than we had originally planned.
There must have been a slow toilet leak for years to have done this much damage to the wood.   On the plus side...They were really easy to pull out!

See the vent too?
That is where we ran a duct up the wall, and created a register for the HVAC to run out into the laundry. That way, 1) it will be a comfortable space to get some work done, and folding won't be such torture! and 2) We can now include all of that square footage when we decide to come on the market.

The house had to be Jacked up in order to get the new joists in place. Now we can get started with putting this bathroom back together!

The new floor joist look beautiful!

Right where this hole is in the sheetrock, we are going to install a fixed transom window. I wanted to have some light - and we could not come up with any other solution since this wall is shared with the laundry, so Transom it is.
Beautiful Spring days like this make me want to spend all of my time over in the little house garden. I can tell already that it's only going to get harder as things start to bloom!
