Isn’t HE Lovely ...Isn’t HE Wonderful...

Oh how I love this little house!
Woodrow has turned out to be as handsome as I knew he would be!

Quick! It's almost time!

Running out of time ....just going to stick to  the photo updates :)

Door color decision struggles

Amanda was ready to roll as soon as I dropped off the paint

I like it.
Glad I didn't go any darker.
This was the color that was inside the coat closet - so I feel like it's staying true to Woodrow's original palette

Think you already saw the tile in the basement - not sure if I posted the shelves

Kitchen update

( you know you're rushing when....)

Looked into new window locks - and they all felt flimsy & cheap.
All it took was a few hours of boiling and 93 years of paint popped right off of these guys!

This might have been the most satisfying job I've done since polishing silver when I was 7!
( that's when my affinity for low effort/ high impact tasks began! 😀)

tick - tock - tick - tock

Crunch time
Here we go folks!

Front porch painted....

Thomas finished the tub.
Thank goodness Colin was here to help him move it in - because that sucker was heavy!
I was no help at all

It was a splurge to get it done, but....I think it was worth it.

I found these sconces @ Ikea
The round white globes made me think of the original dining room sconces, so ....I thought  that they would work.

Basement tub
Not nearly as dramatic - but incredibly functional

durock installed
getting ready for tile

Tile up
Decided to go with the same tile as upstairs
( It's the same one I have in my shower too)

Found this dining room fixture @ pottery barn while I was up in NY
I know - it is not very traditional 1924, but ....
I think it is okay to break the theme for one fixture.

Look what we found while out gardening the other day.

We all thought it looked a bit like Chicken!
She was  not amused.

Oh Woodrow - I miss you already!

Time to start rolling!
Framing for the basement bathroom - done.

Apparently the DHR did not feel that the kitchen & dining room were separated enough. They suggested that I add 12" "wing walls" on the right and left.
I was trying to come up with an alternate plan, and asked if a beam would suffice.
They wanted a drawing to show what I meant.
Clearly my heart was not in the process.

Here is the beam before it was painted.
I think it makes it appear as though we are hiding something in there. Wires, plumbing....but no - it's just a box.

I went by to visit Thomas and check on the bathtub progress.
The pedestal & outside are done.
Now to the hard part!

I can't wait to see it completed.

John & George cleared out & cleaned the attic.
I am so glad that Walter redid the ductwork. It was really unusable with his first design.

The window seat / bench is back in and now painted. It is one of my favorite details about the house.

We are getting down to the details. Things are moving quickly now!
I am excited to finish, but I am not looking forward to giving up Woodrow!
